The Careers Fair provided an ideal opportunity to engage with bright, young minds and promote the long term aspirations of our Company.
I attended the Midsomer Norton Sixth Form Careers Fair following a request to the Schools Ambassadors for support from Sharon Braithwaite, BAE Systems XR Education Liaison Team. The visit was fully supported by my line management and senior manangement within ATC who supplied information and appropriate "freebies" to attract the attention of the students.
Add 1 keen Scientist/Engineer and retreat immediately to a safe distance.
The Fair was attended by BAE Systems, The Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Lush Cosmetics and 6 higher education establishments.
It was well attended by students from Year 11, 12 and 13 looking to choose A' Level and degree courses and to make the correct selection so they could follow their career paths.
Over 50 students visited me at the BAE Systems stand and 20 have left contact details and want to be followed up regarding work placements, apprenticeships and graduate opportunities. I was able to direct a lot of the enquiries to our website at BAE Education which provides potential routes into the Company for young people .
