Bronze bonus

Midsomer Norton Judo Club members won bronze medals for Somerset at the annual Western Area team event in Taunton.

Second Dan black belt Lee Adams was in dominant form, winning all his contests for the senior team in the U100kg category.

In the junior competitions, 10th Mon green belt Connor Schuster won one contest and suffered two hard-fought defeats in the U16 U46kg event, while 17th Mon brown belt Ashley Crooks won twice but lost narrowly to an experienced player in the U16 U81kg category.

The next competition for club members is on April 15 at St Dunstan's School in Glastonbury, the week after the squad returns from Ambares in France.
