I noticed this morning that the bakery Midsomer Savouries has closed down. It was only through asking at a local coffee shop that we found out the reason. I think the least the owner could have done is to put up a sign in the window explaining the closure to his customers!! The only notice in the window is about the expansion of Tesco, which all things considered is not so bad after all!! Went along to the other bakers only to be ripped off by them charging £1.60 for a sliced loaf!!! ..talk about exploitation,,,Tesco and Sainsburys here we come!!!

It's not just about price - it's also about how a local economy can survive. If there aren't any local shops, just supermarkets, most of the profits go out of the town and everybody has to work for the big supermarket chains. The question is,"What is the price of a thriving local community and how much are we prepared to pay to keep one going?" Rupert

NOOOOO, Midsomer Savouries made the best chocolate chrispies cakes going...and at half the price of the other bakery. They will be sorely missed!
Just going into town now to check it out...thanks for the tip off. PS....they also did the best cupcakes EVER!
