Elderly or disabled  people on low incomes living in Midsomer Norton and Norton East Somerset can now get help with transport to medical appointments.

The new initiative was launched by SWAN Advice Networks which  started the project on June 6 after receiving £9,982  from the BIG Lottery.

SWAN'S volunteer transport co-ordinator Sarah Oughton said: "Many people in Bath and Norton East Somerset find getting to Bath's Royal United Hospital stressful if they are unable to use the public transport facilities on offer."

To find out more about the transport service contact SWAN Transport on 01761 439548 or email: swan_voltrans@dial.pipex.com
