Midsomer Norton's newest martial arts club opened to the public last Wednesday and demonstrated the Korean practice of tae kwon do.
All aspects of the martial art that students will learn as their training progresses, including line work, patterns, set sparring, free sparring and destruction, were shown.
The display finished with club instructor Sharon Wiseman, 2nd degree black belt, and her instructor Paul Marsh, 5th degree black belt, performing the black belt pattern Ko Dang, which includes a breaking, downward hand strike through a stack of roof tiles.
Tae kwon do is suitable for all ages and abilities, and classes run twice weekly at St John's Church Hall in Midsomer Norton, from 7.15-8.15pm on Wednesdays and from 10-11am on Saturdays.
