    An appeal has gone up in Midsomer Norton after a pair of guinea pigs and their hutch were stolen.  Grace and Max Watts are appealing for the return of  their two pets which were taken from their home in Foxcote on April 20. The missing guinea pigs are Bubble and Sqeak and even though these aren't the actual pictures of the pair, they are similar. If you have any information, please call 01373 834910.

    A Midsomer Norton woman has pleaded guilty to benefit fraud. Christine Mary Ingram of Woodside appeared before magistrates in Bath on January 4 after failing to inform authorities that she was living with her partner Christopher Ingram and had married in March 2007. Ingram has been given unconditional bail until January 26, when she is due back in the court.
  • Failed car thief jailed for 12 weeks

    A man from Midsomer Norton who admitted trying to steal four cars parked in residential roads in the town has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison. Damian Witcombe, 21, of Redland Terrance, unsuccessfully attempted to steal four cars over two days in November last year. He appeared before magistrates in Bristol on December 17 where he was convicted and sentenced.

    With Christmas approaching, it looks as if the con artists and computer hackers are on the prowl. Today I received an official looking email from DHL saying they were unable to deliver a package to me due to an insufficient address.  As many of us, now doubt will be expecting parcels to arrive by post, it would have easily fooled me.
