The Friends of Silver Street Nature Reserve are having a bonfire tomorrow to clear some of the debris, branches and ivy which has been cut off some trees. The area near the pond needs clearing and why not come along and help you will be very welcome . Meet in the woods at 10.30 on Monday 2nd January

We have rearranged the work day for this Saturday 7th January at 10.30. Meet by the pond in the Silver Street woods where we will be having a bonfire to burn all the rubbish left from tree cutting.

We will start the fire with some dry material as the wood there is very wet, the reason we had to cancel today was so much rain and a very unsettled day. So we hope you will come and help on Saturday and sorry to those who came today.

Yes the fire is on! Just bring some gloves and if you have one a saw or loppers..Children under 16 need to come with an adult Also please wear wellies or other suitable foot wear as the woods are very wet .See you there

The Friends of Silver Street had a very successful workday yesterday clearing all the branches and ivy that hd accumulated over the years near the pond. A mammoth bonfire was lit and kept going by 10 volunteers who piled the stuff on the fire. We couldn't have done the marvellous job of clearing without the help of our volunteers so a big thank you to them all.
