Each year, local Chocolates for Chocoholics representative, Penny Wilkinson, selects a charity and organises a fabulous prize raffle in the run up to Christmas. This year's raffle will take place on Saturday, 7th December at Mardons Social Club and will be supporting Ups and Downs Southwest. Organiser, Penny, says, "When I was asked if I would consider doing a raffle for Ups and Downs, the answer was a definite yes! The organisation offers practical advice and great support to families who have children with Down's syndrome. Not only do they hold many events and do lots of things with the children with Down's, they also make sure any siblings are included. "Since they were founded in 1997, the charity has grown and now helps over 450 families in the south-west. So you can see why it's so important, any fundraising goes such a long way to help this very worthy cause." If you would like to see what happens at the charity's days out and events, please go to their Facebook page: Ups and Downs Southwest Penny adds, "Mardons Social Club have made entry to the night free and open to everyone, they have also booked an exceptional band, Tundra, so it should be a great night. So far, we have more than thirty fantastic prizes, so please come along and support this worthwhile cause and have a brilliant night of dancing."
