Not strictly correct. According to the transportdirect.info site you could take a 376 to Wells; then a 173 to Midsomer Norton. Should take you less than a couple of hours. Not bad for a journey between towns 2.5 miles apart. What a sad, sick country we live in.
Well what a way to bring the community together. Even a safe cycle route would suffice. I'm only 15, and I want to get to the book barn from my house on a Saturday [parents at work]. Just trying to enrich my education, and a huge let down for people that need to get to work. Maybe the government should stop spending money on food recycling boxes that 50% of the population can't be bothered to use, and start spending money on a bus route for the people that CAN be bothered.

Work should be starting soon on a cycle route between Tesco and the Greenway, and there is a campaign to extend it to Farrington Gurney.
You are all absolutely correct that some things are bonkers. Problem is, "public transport" isn't really public and First will only run "profitable routes" (and let the council subsidise others). Any local companies that try to run a competing service just get priced out by First, until they raise their fares again once they've driven them off the route.
Such a shame that many years of campaigning has to be done to get a simple couple of miles of safe off road tarmac.
