We work very hard to improve the Silver Street Nature Reserve and you can imagine our disappointment when we saw that some young people had thrown large logs, branches and lots to bits of wood into the pond They were seen last friday on the way home from school when it was very cold and parts of the pond had frozen. We have spent the whole afternoon clearing and moving all the debris from the area Some of the logs were massive and it took all our strength to get them out of the water. It just shows how a few can spoil things for the many. .

I couldn't help admire the natural fencing that was being built along the pathway at the nature reserve. Shame about the logs being thrown into the pond.

Yes, we have been in touch with the school and they were as annoyed as we were at the act of vandalism and even offered to clear the mess but we had already done it. They wondered if the students could be identified as they must have been there for a while and older as the logs were very heavy. This shows that it is only a small minority who spoil things and we hope they will see the error of their ways
