Hello, we are a local charity called Time2Share. We are currently looking to recruit volunteers from the area to spend a couple of hours a week befriending a disabled child. No experience is necessary as initial induction training is provided (we re-inburse any travel expense incurred) and will also support you throughout your befriending relationship. We match on mutual hobbies and interests and the scheme is very flexible working around what's best you and the family. Disabled children can often be extremely isolated, with no friends of their own so befriending really is an opportunity for children to have an independent social life and a sense they have someone who comes to spend time just with them. It also gives parents / carers a chance to have a well deserved break for a couple of hours!

I am the NE Somerset Co-Ordinator for Time2Share, and we provide 1:1 befriending service in BANES and Bristol. This gives valuable social time to our disabled young people, as well as give their carers valuable time off for a few hours a week.

I'm a local counsellor with my own private practice in Chilcompton. I am always interested to know what other facilities are available for clients locally to support them. Is there a local befriending group established?
