BlackJakk return to Mardons to headline a rock night with Maps and Legnds
Formed at Bristol University in October 2009, Maps and Legends have quickly risen through the ranks, playing in Bristol's best venues and attracting large audiences with their unique brand of rock. Not surprisingly, the band are accumulating a growing fan base, the soaring voice of Jack Hobbs, the lead guitar trickery of Gareth Hughes and formidable rhythmic assault of Aj Young and George Paton combine perfectly to produce an epic live sound.
The indie/alternative rock band's four members, all aged 21 or under, have produced a debut EP showcasing 6 tracks, currently available from iTunes, Amazon MP3 or directly from the band. Hear more about this impressive band on their website: www.mapsandlegends.co.uk
Four piece Blackjakk bring a well balanced mix of both hard rock covers as well as original songs. Their charismatic frontman, Sam Chard, leads the very strong and talented group, with guitar genius, Ben Wilshire, deserving a special mention for his exceptional abilities. The lively and enthusiastic band say they've got a keen interest to saturate the mundane mainstream music of today with hard-hitting, energized rock 'n roll. Their local support is ever growing and when they turn up the volume and set the music pounding they certainly look like a band with a bright future ahead of them. Thanks Carla, we appreciate the chance to spread the word on this site and we really enjoy getting to see the bands - we never knew there were so many talented people in the area! Plus its good that all ages can come along and mix so well.
We had an amazing night on Friday with Truth and the Happy Endings and DJ Neil Dando - packed inside and out - they put on a hell of a show for us...
