Acclaimed Bristol five-piece, Goodness will headline at Mardons showcase on Friday 13th May. Playing as part of their EP launch tour, which also takes in gigs in Birmingham and London, this is a great opportunity to see the band who have already been voted 'Best Live Rock Act' at the Exposure Music Awards. Their stage performances are energetic and impressively compelling, their original material has a mass appeal that can win over the most diverse audiences and is accessible to all ages.

Goodness set themselves a high standard when they produced their debut EP 'The Rockfield Sessions', every track an example of great songwriting combined with musical intricacy. The lead song 'Something To Say' which was accompanied by a strong video was an instantly catchy piece of pop/rock.

The recently released and much anticipated second EP, 'An Announcement Is Being Made In Sound'  shows a progression and development to their music. Lead vocals from Steve Preston, once again soar, but there's also a subtlety in the gentler track 'Curves'. Again the songs are cleverly hooky, anthemic and rich sounding, proving they are a force to be reckoned with. Goodness deserve to be very successful, they display extensive talents, they gig hard and they are a genuinely nice bunch! Find out more at their new website: www.goodnessmusic.co.uk

Opening the night is local lad George Taylor. With a whole host of his family currently pleasing crowds as Truth and The Happy Endings, George demonstrates that he is equally blessed musically and will perform acoustic tracks. George previously performed as part of A Cute Stick and will be reunited with Mike Hooper on the night for a song.

Bringing the evening to a close will be Mike Hooper's latest musical offering - Grand Slam Hero, a very new creation, just starting out. This fledgling local band will perform original material with an alternative rock/heavy rock sound!

As always entry is free and all ages are welcome.
