Firefighters raise cash to help children with life-limiting conditions
By AvonFire | Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 10:29
Firefighters
from Avonmouth, Bedminster, Patchway and Temple fire stations have been
pounding the pavements in the run up to Christmas to raise money for the
Children’s Hospice South West, based in North Somerset.
Every Friday and Saturday throughout December crews from the stations were
shaking buckets in Bristol’s Cabot Circus shopping centre in aid of the
charity. They also used the opportunity to talk to shoppers about fire safety
and make appointments to visit homes to provide information on reducing the
risk of fire.
