Samantha wins champion title

It was a champion day for Samantha Jonas at the Mid Somerset show.

Samantha of Binegar won the supreme show champion in the sheep section with her charollais ram Wardshill Handsome.

Laura Sales, from Midsomer Norton, was judging the shorthorns and any other dairy cattle classes and her mother Kim stood in at the last minute to judge the Jersey classes.

In the Young Farmers’ dairy cattle classes N F Clothier and Son, from Ston Easton, won a first and a second prize and the family continued the success in the young handler classes with George being placed second in the four to nine-year-olds section and Emma in the ten to 16- year-olds.

Tom Osborne, also from Ston Easton, had a very busy day showing his dairy shorthorn cattle early in the morning and then judging the local sheep and butchers’ lamb classes.

Tom won the Bibby Cup for the best dairy shorthorn with his cattle.
