The internet giant has today rolled out its photo-mapping to cover about 95 per cent of the UK.
To see the street view pictures, go to Google Maps and drag the little orange man onto any street of your choice.
I've already checked whether Google took a picture of my house, and yes, it's there.
The Google van which took the pictures must have passed by about 18 months ago because the picture shows an old car of mine.
But at least they did Midsomer Norton on a sunny day!!
What do people make of this? A lot of complaints have been made that this breaches privacy, that burglars can use Google Street View to check out people's houses.
And I wonder if anyone in Midsomer Norton will have been snapped doing something they shouldn't?? Anyone spotted anything yet?

It's a bit eerie. Years ago when I was living in the States I was corresponding with a chap from The Netherlands on MSN Messenger. I had mentioned the area that I lived in and he managed to log on to an estate agent in the region and get pictures of my neighbourhood. It felt a bit odd when someone half way around the world started telling me what he thought of where I lived. It felt like I was being stalked. However, if I was house=hunting...I'd definitely use the service to see what the neighbourhood is like.

ReportThey did my place in the spring (cherry blossom) on Wednesday afternoon (empty green box on the pavement). How the blazes does it breach privacy? More PC cobblers. What part of STREET VIEW don't these PC twerps understand? Streets are public places. Anyone can take photographs in the street, legally, (in spite of the Met Police harassing street photographers in London under pretext of Section 44 of the Terrorist Act). If someone's planning to burgle your house he'd be better advised to case the place in person and take a more up to date picture.
