Wookey 1 Farrington Gurney 2
Farrington Gurney reached the Dimmock Green Knockout Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Wookey in a match that had been postponed five times.
The pitch was in far from pristine condition and the opening quarter of an hour saw some typical cup-tie football.
However, both teams were struggling to bring the ball under control and there was little threat to either goal.
On 17 minutes, Gurney won a corner, which Wookey failed to clear and Dave Herrin forced the ball back into the six-yard box, where Neil Radnedge pounced to slam home the opening goal for the visitors.
Both teams battled hard but were frequently frustrated by the poor surface.
Radnedge went close on 25 minutes, firing just wide after some good work by Gurney down the right flank.
Wookey were still looking dangerous on the break and were unlucky not to equalise in the 33rd minute when a rasping shot from 20 yards flew just over the visitors' bar.
The last five minutes of the half saw Wookey finally gain some better possession, which saw them force a string of corners, but the Farrington defence stood firm and prevented any scoring opportunity.
Farrington started the second period playing much better football, leading to a number of early chances.
Herrin found space in the Wookey box only to pull his shot inches wide, while Tommy Hooper's surging run culminated in a fierce shot which again narrowly missed the target.
The first 15 minutes of the half had been dominated by the visitors but they failed to increase their lead and Wookey started to produce some quality work of their own.
After going close 19 minutes in, the equaliser came three minutes later with a powerful curling shot from the edge of the box.
The same player went close to doubling his tally two minutes later, his shot squirting just wide.
Gurney regained the ascendancy and good interplay between Herrin, Radnedge and Johno Parfitt left the home defence floundering.
Parfitt's pinpoint pass picked out substitute John Gibbs racing into the right side of box, where he was able to drill a powerful low shot past the keeper to restore the visitors' lead.
Wookey were forced to commit numbers forward in search of another equaliser and twice went close.
Farrington were a threat on the break and Herrin twice broke the offside trap to go one-on-one with the keeper, the first time seeing his delicate chip bobble wide, while the second effort was well smothered by the Wookey keeper on the penalty spot.
Man of the match was Tommy Hooper.
