Chilcompton Hammers 44 Chipping Sodbury 37
Hammers played Chipping Sodbury for the second time this season on Saturday.
The match started evenly, with Chipping Sodbury narrowly pulling away early on, but Hammers managed to pull a few goals back and ended the first quarter with a two-goal lead.
Good interceptions by Jodie and good defensive work by Cathy, Louise and Jemma meant that Chipping Sodbury had to work hard.
Amy and Jodie fed the ball into the circle with good accuracy to Laura and Nic, who converted the hard work into goals.
Hammers were 24-17 clear at half-time but this advantage was pulled back to six goals going into the final quarter.
For the final 15 minutes, Hammers knew they had to score on their centre passes and retain possession. Chipping Sodbury maintained their fight but Hammers kept them at bay and won 44-37.
Player of the match was Laura Mitchell.
Imperial 13 Chilcompton Vigors 7
Vigors started the match in a positive way and, with some good play down the court and into the circle, finished the first quarter level at 3-3.
Momentum was lost during the second quarter and, although Lou and Julie S maintained some good defending, Chilcompton were only able to score one point during the quarter.
Vigors made some changes for the third quarter, with Julie S moving to shooter, and the Imperial momentum began to slow.
For the last quarter, Vigors made a number of changes, with Alice moving to GD, Julie S at GS and Julie P at GA. This helped to motivate players and Vigors were able to finish the match with seven goals.
