Midsomer Norton will be blooming lovely this summer as it is to receive grants totaling more than £25,000 to fund four beautification projects, thanks to the Chamber of Trade and the Town Council.

The High Street will benefit from £14,000 being spent to install 130 new hanging basket hooks and a watering system and £8,000 will be used to transform the River Somer which flows through the town.

Thirty flower tubs are to be installed along the River Somer railings at a cost of £2,246 and £1,000 will be spent on a leaflet to promote shopping in Midsomer Norton.

Do you think this is money well-spent? Would you have preferred to see the money go towards other projects? Let us know.
