North East Somerset Parliamentary candidates turn to Facebook for votes and women

As the website Facebook has joined in the campaign to get more people voting in May 6th’s General Election, I thought it would be interesting to see which candidates fighting for the North East Somerset seat have grasped on to social networking. I was curious to see just how many of our Parliamentary candidates were taking to social networking and how many friends they had.

How many friends do our Parliamentary candidates have on the social networking scene?
As of today, Conservative candidate Jacob Rees-Mogg has two Facebook sites. The Elect Jacob Rees-Mogg site has 163 friends while the Jacob Rees-Mogg Forum only has 15 friends. Labour’s Dan Norris doesn’t seem to be on Facebook however when you do a name search you get the Dan Norris Appreciate Society, but this is for a musician I gather and not our MP. There is also another listing saying Dan Norris is c*@p but I gather this is also referring to the musician and not our MP.
UKIP Peter Sandell’s Facebook profile claims he is interested in women and is looking for a relationship, however he only has 33 friends and out of those friends only six are women.Green Party Michael Jay doesn’t seem to take part in social networking as he can’t be found on Facebook.
But social networking seems to be taking off for Gail Coleshill as she has 248 friends.
There is also a full page advert in The Journal urging people to support Lib Dem candidate Gail Coleshill’s campaign on Facebook.
So if Facebook popularity is anything to go by…Gail will be the winner.
What do you think of the candidates? Who are you planning to back? Do reply with your views.

ReportThis is a new page on Facebook just for the smaller parties who just don't get the media coverage of the top three. So if you're not sure who's out there to vote for, you can find out here. tinyurl.com/y9qg2kd

Reporttinyurl.com/yeqawgk This is the English Democrats page with 2160 members. The on they had for the EU elections in June broke records at about 17,000. Unfortunately we don't have a candidate for BaNES in this election so will be voting UKIP.

ReportI suppose UKIP's Peter Sandell would just be happy getting a date rather than elected! Perhaps you should ask too if there's any interested women!
