Anyone else noticed that the signs to the refurbished Lidl store in Midsomer Norton seem to be..... everywhere?!

All over the town I see little yellow signs with arrows tied to poles and fences.

Even driving to Bath the other day there was huge van parked up in a lay-by with a great big ad on the side.

I'm sure Lidl have asked permission to put all these signs up, but it seems a bit excessive to me. Whoever had the final say should have told them to calm down a bit!

You're right, of course, Howard. But, i'll admit that I quite like the selection of cooked meats at Sainsburys. And I like to drive there because it's easy....LOL

"...Howard hates cars AND supermarkets....".  So says coopslad.
    You reckon?
Apart from that between them they've caused environmental destruction, ripped the heart out of communities, bankrupted tens of thousands of family shops and bred a nation of obese children and adults and turned great swathes of our once 'green and pleasant land' into a dystopian hell-hole I have nothing at all against cars and supermarkets.

Supermarkets play van important role in my life ....... the give me a genuine reason to become a grumpy old git ;)

What better way to spend half a day out of your weekend once a month. Battling to control the three wheeled trolly (has 4 but on 3 ever go in the same direction). Swerving to avoid the old dears with no sense of direct or lane etiquette. Becoming increasingly annoyed at the complete lack of stacking skills displayed by the current Mrs OOF (She adopts the 'just chuck it in' approach). And as for the mothers who treat it as a community play area for their youngsters, blimey, agast. Trying to understand why, when they stock the 48 other types of shaving foam, do they only have an empty space where the one I ant should be is beyond me ......... and a million other things. By the end I'm contemplating if it's worth carrying on with life. The only 'up' side is that I can usually sneak a couple of 4-pack of Peroni & a bottle of red in beneath the bread. They are through the check out quick-time before the current Mrs OOF has a chance to spot them and invoke the 'no way Hose' veto rule ....... and next month I get to do it all again, twice in the lead up to Christmas. Don'tcha just love life? Cheers, OOF.

"...Supermarkets are pretty important to people..."  That's probably why there are at least three others within a couple of miles...
