Could the river renovation cause flooding in Midsomer Norton's High Street?

I love the look of the River Somer, but I can't help but wonder with all the recent rain, if it will stay looking the way it does should the river rise.

Does anyone know what measures have been put into place to keep the water and the silt from washing away or covering the newly-added rockery and plants?

I think the stone may dull in colour with time and I too assume that those who planned it would have considered rising water levels etc and the effects it would have on the plants and rockery. It will be interesting to see what happens as the seasons change. But Howard....be thankful they didn't decide to use stones the colour of the chakras which as was offered to me when selecting a water feature!

Hopefully the stone used will fade in colour or something! Its Ok but the stone is very Yellow. As for the river rising over it ? i suppose they took that into account ( but i wouldnt want to bet on it)

I think the plants are bog type plants i.e they tolerate wet conditions.
The rockery will help to keep them in place, after a while they will root in more strongly. They will deal with a submerging no problem, but while they are still new, if they are in fast water, they may become dislodged. Unless they have been tied to rocks?

I thought the same. Can't help wondering if the lot will be washed away during the next wet spell. Don't think I like what they've done anyway. Looks too much like a tasteless garden feature at the moment.
